Banks & Accounts

Banking in Panama: access to the financial system.

Opening an account in Panama is possible for individuals and companies. KYC requirements, bank selection and day-to-day management.

The Panamanian banking system

Panama has one of the most solid banking systems in Latin America, with over 80 banks operating, including international institutions and boutique private banks. Supervision is entrusted to the Superintendencia de Bancos, with high capitalisation standards.

Opening an account is possible for foreign individuals and legal entities, but the due-diligence process is rigorous. Panamanian banks apply KYC/AML in line with international standards (CRS, FATCA).
